A very dramatic view of a 24" Hokulea model with the artist signature sails imitating the lauhala panels taking the wind. The single blocks, about 24 of them, are carved by hand, out of koa, and the ropes are all seized at the throat of the blocks.

This 18" long model of the Hokulea was the demonstrating piece for the nationwide show "MODERN MASTERS" on HGTV. The beautiful koa base on which the model is resting is designed so that the model can be covered with a showcase.
