Commissioned in 2005, this beautiful 24 " long single sail voyaging canoe was one of a larger selection of Hawaiian canoe models built for a private collector.

This is the second set of line drawings by the artist showing both the side view and deck plan for the construction of a very slender 28 inch, all Koa, voyaging canoes. Noticeable is the mast shoe on top of its principal crossboom.

Built in accordance with the 2 sets of line drawings illustrated in this album, this model took no more than one week to be completed from drawings its lines up to its final rigging. See Flickr.com; Hawaiiancanoes.

Those line drawings by the artist are the first in a set of 2 for the construction of a very handsome 28 inch single sail voyaging canoe model with stacked up washstrakes pierced by a total of 4 strongly arches booms in the middle region, one of which much stouter and wider to carry the mast step. Both ends of the deck do gently curve upwards thanks to the addition of a highly raised boom on bow and stern covers. See Blog regarding arched beams.
