14 cross beams are holding the two hulls together and each cross beam is lashed to each side of the hull's walls, making it a total of 56 intricate lashings. Further to this each plank of the deck is individually lashed on to the cross beams. The prow pieces are swan's neck like, bearing each a human figure. The hull of this canoe has been carved out of figured koa wood. All others woods are either Hawaiian grown or other type of rare exotic woods.

Clearly visible in this view is the seam between washstrakes and underbody protected on the outside by a lashed on batten. A Marquesan type tiki stands on top of each stern piece. Those pieces continue into a long sweeping terminal curve ending with an amorphic figure.
